SOP MAC Reboot

SOP MAC Reboot

SOP: Weekly MAC scheduled reboot (School wide process)

Why are we doing this:

  1. Restarting your computer at least once a week, resolves common connection and application issues. The potential for future or reoccurring issues can be reduced or eliminated in some cases.

Benefits:

  1. Flushes the Memory (Resets RAM on your machine) *too many tabs open*
  2. Halts Memory Leaks
  3. Corrects software glitches.
  4. Resolves Internet and Bluetooth connection issues.
  5. Speeds up Performance.

Expectations:

Starting January 5th ,2024 all Mac laptops will be scheduled to reboot weekly at 3:30 PM every Friday.

What do you need to do:

  1. If you are in the building leave your laptop on with the lid open.
  2. Or, when you get home, open the lid of your laptop power it on and connect it to your wifi
  3. If steps 1 and 2 are not possible, the next time you power up your machine or open the lid, your mac will reboot. We recommend doing this before Monday morning when you return to class or your office.

*It takes less than 30 seconds to reboot*
