Password Change SOP

Listed below are the steps to change your user password.


To prevent loss of data, please read through all the steps listed at least once. Reread through them as you complete the process of resetting your password. If you do not understand a step, please reach out to IT at ext. 3001.

If you have not already changed your Google password, you can do so easily by following the steps below.


  1. Sign in to your browser and go to myaccount.google.com/security

  2. Click on Password, this will take you to a screen where you can set a new password.


Once you have completed the above steps or reset your password, you can proceed to the next steps.



***Before continuing this procedure, ensure that you know your old password and new password***



  1. In the top right corner of your screen, there should be a Mosyle icon with the option to “Sync local password with Google”, open that. If the icon does not appear skip to Step 5, otherwise continue.

  1. Sign in with your Google account using your new password.

  1. Once you have completed the Google sign-in, the next page should appear asking you to enter your current local password (see picture 3). Enter your old password, the one you use to get into your computer.

  1. If you have completed the above steps, restart your computer and log in. If you have any issues, please contact IT.


  1. If the Mosyle password sync button did not appear for you and you have already reset your password in Google, restart your computer

  2. Once restarted, you should have a screen like the following image

  1. Sign in with Google, you will need to use your new Google password for the Google login.

  2. After using the Google login, you should get a page that looks like the picture below. Enter your old password.


After this, you should log out and log back in again to ensure the password update worked as expected.
